Warranties

True Value Solar offers a comprehensive warranty package on all solar systems sold:

  1. 25 years manufactures’ performance warranty on all solar panels.
  2. 10 year system warranty on parts and labour. This is known as a “back to base” warranty. This is conditional on having the solar system inspected and maintained by an accredited solar electrician every 2 years.
  3. 5 year inverter warranty.

Panel Warranty

Term of Coverage. 25 years manufacturers’ performance warranty stipulates that the solar panels will be working at 80% of their original system efficiency output for 25 years.

This warranty service is offered only when this Warranty Certificate together with a valid purchase receipt is presented to a True Value Solar office or authorised franchise.

This warranty covers defects due to faulty design, workmanship or materials.
 Neither the Authorised Representative nor the Sales Company nor the Manufacturer shall be responsible for any costs due to delay in repairs or replacements.

No claim based on this Limited Warranty may be brought after the applicable warranty period. Any delivery of additional PV Module(s) or the repair or replacement of the PV Module(s) shall not extend the original terms of this Limited Warranty.

Limited Product Warranty and exclusions. True Value Solar does not warrant its products from any and all defects or damage caused by:

  1. Malfunction or damage due to product misue, improper use, abuse or negligence by the customer, or to any other use of the product other than the prescribed use.
  2. Malfunction or damage due to fire, earthquake, flood, lightning or any other natural disaster, abnormal voltage, war or any other disturbance (civil unrest, riots etc), unforseen accidents, or any other external factors beyond the control of the Manufacturer or the Sales Company that sold the product
  3. Repair or modification by someone other than an approved service technician of True Vale Solar
  4. Products whose serial numbers have been changed, tampered with or removed.

System Warranty

Warranty. True Value Solar warrants that the installed solar photovoltaic system shall be free from defects in material and workmanship on non-structure items for a period of 10 years following the Warranty commencement date and shall be free from defects with respect to structural items for a period of ten (10) years following the Warranty commencement date.
 In making a determination of whether an item or problem is considered to be a defect, the parties agree to follow the guidelines set forth in the AS/NZ 3000 Standards.

Warranty Commencement Date. The warranty commencement date shall be the date on which the Homeowner takes possession of the System.

Exclusions. The following items are excluded from this Warranty:

  1. Meters for Electricity, Gas and Water which are covered and maintained by the Local Distribution Network.
  2. Damage due to wear and tear, abusive use, misuse, or lack of proper maintenance.
  3. Defects in items installed by Homeowner or anyone else not authorised by True Value Solar or an apppointed agent of True Value Solar.
  4. Loss or injury due to the elements (including but not limited to damage due to lightning, overvoltage, storm, surge, fire), or cosmetic shortcomings which do not influence the supply of energy.

Dispute Resolution. If a dispute between the parties arises as to whether Homeowner is entitled to the benefits of this Warranty, the matter shall be resolved through a binding arbitration submitted through the Office of Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs.

Servicing. Homeowner understands for the warranty not to be voided they must agree to have their systems inspected and serviced every two years by a True Value Solar representative or an appointed agent of True Value Solar or if elemental damage is noticed. Service fees will be borne by the Homeowner. Once the Warranty period has expired, the Homeowner shall assume complete responsibility and liability for any and all repairs associated with the residence except for any manufacturer’s warranties.

Inverter Warranty

Term of Coverage. The warranty period for the inverter is 5 years warranty from the date of purchase by the original end user.

Coverage. The True Value Solar warranty, covers any repair or replacement part costs incurred during the agreed period, beginning on the device’s purchase date, subject to the conditions listed below.

If a device becomes defective within the agreed True Value Solar warranty period, one of the following services, as selected by True Value Solar, will be performed at no charge for materials or labour costs:

  1. repair at True Value Solar or its service centres, or
  2. repair on site, or
  3. exchange for a replacement device of equivalent value according to model and age.

True Value Solar determines that the defect is covered by the limited warranty set forth above. True Value Solar reserves the right to inspect the defective component(s) and determine if the defect is due to material or manufacturing flaws. True Value Solar also reserves the right to charge a fee for service time expended if the defect is not due to material or workmanship and is therefore not subject to this limited warranty.

True Value Solar will, at its option, use new and/or reconditioned parts in performing warranty repair and in building replacement products. True Value Solar reserves the right to use parts or products of original or improved design in the repair or replacement. If True Value Solar repairs or replaces a product, the remainder of the warranty entitlement will be transferred to the replacement device. In such an event, you would not receive a new certificate, the warranty continues for the remaining portion of the original warranty period from the date of the return shipment to the customer.
 For defects covered by this limited warranty, True Value Solar will provide, at no additional cost to the customer, both parts and labor necessary to repair the product, and return shipment to the customer via a True Value Solar selected, non expedited, surface freight carrier within Australia.

Limited Product Warranty and exclusions. True Value Solar does not warrant its products from any and all defects or damage caused by:

  1. Exposure to unsuitable environmental conditions, insufficient ventilation of the device or force majeure (including but not limited to damage due to lightning, overvoltage, storm, surge, fire), or cosmetic shortcomings which do not influence the supply of energy
  2. Unauthorised or abnormal use or operation
  3. Negligence or accidents
  4. Failure to observe the applicable safety regulations
  5. Modifications, changes or attempted repairs
  6. Material or workmanship not provided by True Value Solar or its authorized service providers
  7. This warranty does not cover costs related to the removal, installation, or troubleshooting of your electrical system
  8. Further-reaching or additional claims due to direct or indirect damage, especially claims for compensation for damages due to loss of profits or due to costs arising from disassembly and mounting, are excluded if no legally mandatory liability applies.
