A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a unit of energy for measuring electricity use. It is equivalent to one kilowatt (1kW) of power expended for one hour (1h) of time.
How can I find my cost?
Typically you will find your kWh cost in cents on the front of your electricity bill. Please update the national average we have supplied (0.23) with the amount as seen on your bill to get the most accurate figures from the calculator.
What are these system kW numbers?
Solar systems are measured by how many Watts (W) and/or Kilowatts (kW) of electricity they produce. The solar panels on a 2.28kW solar system produces 2280 Watts of energy (or 2.28kW). Don’t be too concerned by the jargon... our solar specialists can walk you through the 3 easy steps to determine the best / correct system for you.

Calculation above is an estimate based on data provided by the Clean Energy Council which assumes 50% of electricity produced is used and the remainder fed back into the grid. For a guide to Solar PV from the Clean Energy Council please view: http://www.cleanenergycouncil.org.au/cec/resourcecentre/Consumer-Info/solarPV-guide
** Reduction in greenhouse gas emmissions is estimated based on amount of electricity not needing to be supplied by the grid. Amounts are calculated on a state-by-state basis using information from the National Greenhouse Accounts (NGA) Factors - table 40, July 2010: http://www.climatechange.gov.au/publications/greenhouse-acctg/national-greenhouse-factors.aspx
